For more than 50 years, Northwest Behavioral Health has provided mental health treatment to individuals from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado. Located on the campus of Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas, we offer behavioral health treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, seniors and uniformed service members. Our facility has 6 inpatient units with 106 beds. Additional services we offer include 24 hours a day free behavioral health assessments, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient mental health and substance use programs, clinic-based psychiatry and therapy services. New service offerings coming in 2021 include ECT, virtual reality exposure therapy, bio neurofeedback and CBT-I for insomnia. Completes pre-discharge evaluations from patient/family interviews and healthcare team collaborations. Based on evaluation, develops a viable plan of intervention for current needs and potential discharge needs with consideration of illness/injury, living situation, support systems, and financial status. Provides social services and discharge management services to patients and families; these functions contribute to the quality of continuum of care. QualificationsEDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or in related field with a minimum of two years' experience preferred as licensed Social Worker (BA/BSW)
- Licensed by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners or is eligible and agrees to obtain license within 6 months.
