Job Description

Summary Responsible for ensuring that the company uses technology as a competitive advantage. Responsible for efficient use of current technology; defining the correct implementation of new technologies and driving future technology strategy that is responsive to, and anticipating, the ongoing needs of the industry, and the evolving needs of the banks' business lines and customers. This includes rationalization of solutions used, establishment and implementation of performance metrics, ensuring proper governance, all while maximizing solution investment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Key Activities
    • Provides strategic solutions that balance the needs of internal teams and customer experience in a cost-effective manner;
    • Develops and maintains a forward-looking, 12 month holistic view of new and existing solutions/services that interact with our banking technology;
    • Responsible for driving a well-managed utilization of our strategic technology and solutions services;
    • Leads through influence;
    • Consults with leadership to provide strategic solutions with corporate strategic plan;
    • Manages the day-to day operations of the Strategic Solutions Department;
    • Responsible for interviewing, coaching, mentoring and training Strategic Solutions Department;
    • Administers and completes performance reviews for skill improvement;
    • Responds to and resolves complaints and issues within department;
  • New Services/Solution Onboarding
    • Maintains overall understanding of new and upcoming core (FIS) banking technology solutions and services, while using strategic and critical thinking around applicability of those solutions and services;
    • Performs continuous evaluation of 3rd party (non-FIS) technology solutions and services;
    • Develops business cases for each new solution/service; including standards for implementation;
    • Reviews and comments on terms of contracts for strategic technology solutions and services;
  • Existing Services/Solutions Management
    • Maintains and understands roadmap of each solution and service;
    • Develops a set of scorecards and KPIs (vendor scorecard, SLAs tracking, etc.) and develops remedial actions/plans as needed;
    • Evaluates business line maturity and experience in using our technology;
    • Works with business lines to reach defined levels of maturity;
    • Develops the interaction models and escalation processes between users, vendors, IT and senior management;
    • Maintains record of spend vs. target on new and existing technology solutions and services initiatives;
    • Acts as the strategic point of contact with vendors and executive level escalations; and
    • Maintains, reviews and acts on Risk Management Plan.

  • Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations;

  • Must have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables;
  • Must have creative thinking capabilities that include an interest to learn and adopt innovative technologies and tactics;
  • Must have strong leadership, training, coaching and mentoring skills;
  • Must be a steward of the culture and core values and leads by example;
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Internet utilization;
  • Must be able to collaborate with internal teams to accomplish strategic goals; and
  • Must be able to pass background and credit screening process.

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.), or equivalent four to ten (4 - 10) years' related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Ten plus (10 +) years' industry and technology experience preferred.
